CSK vs RCB – Match Report
Rachin Ravindra’s early onslaught proved to be the difference between the two teams. While RCB too had a strong start, it was unable to maintain it. Rachin’s 37 off 15 and Ajinkya Rahane’s 19-ball 28 enabled CSK to do this. There was a brief spell when two wickets offered Faf & Co hope, but Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja came together to finish it.
CSK 156/4 in 17 overs
Joseph will continue. Anuj Rawat did some sloppy job. An overthrow by him allows Jadeja to make a second run. FOUR! Dube slices this uppish delivery behind square to get his team closer to the goal. FOUR byes in the over provide the necessary equation to run a ball. Nineteen needed off. Rawat appears to have damaged his hand in an attempt to prevent those byes. Receives some treatment. 16 runs from the over.
CSK 121/4 in 14 overs
Glenn Maxwell addresses Jadeja. SIX! Jadeja makes a long front-foot stride to the pitch before lofting the ball above the bowler’s head. A single to long on the following ball. Dube has four consecutive dots.
CSK 114/4 in 13 overs
Green to Dube, a bouncer for the batter, who fails to draw away. RCB has filed an appeal, citing a little advantage. A DRS check reveals nothing, and Faf and his squad are one review behind. WICKET! Green strikes again, and Mitchell holes out at long range.
CSK 71/2 in 7 overs
RCB brings in spin. Karn Sharma will bowl. SIX! Rachin is afforded time to return to his back foot, which he uses to hit a maximum over midwicket. OUT! Rachin took one too many shots. He attempts a slog sweep but gives it to deep square leg.
CSK 8/0 in 1 over
Mohammed Siraj to Ruturaj: FOUR! A boundary for the first delivery. It is thrown short, and the CSK skipper catches it with a pull shot. FOUR more, including this through point. Ruturaj drives the delivery outdoors. It lingers in the air before flying between the fielders and running to the fence.
