Recently, Australian cricket player Glenn Maxwell has been in the news due to an incident in a pub in Adelaide that required hospitalization. Ben Tippett, Maxwell’s manager, has made it clear that the all-round player is not being looked into by Cricket Australia (CA) for the late-night party incident, despite some reports to the contrary.
The incident happened following Maxwell’s attendance at the Governer Hindmarsh hotel for a concert by Brett Lee’s band, “Six and Out.” After the show, Maxwell reportedly passed out backstage and needed medical assistance; as a result, an ambulance was called to transport him to the hospital.
Maxwell is “a little embarrassed by the whole thing,” according to Tippett, but she also made it clear that the CA is not currently looking into the situation. He added that Maxwell had returned to Melbourne and was back to training after being “sore and sorry” the next day.
In response, Nick Hockley, the CEO of Cricket Australia, stated that Maxwell’s layoff from the forthcoming ODI series against the West Indies was scheduled in advance and had nothing to do with the pub incident. Hockley added that since they were still gathering evidence, it was too soon to make any assumptions about the reports.

Glenn feels a little ashamed of the entire situation. On Saturday, he apologized and seemed a little sore, but he’s back in Melbourne and started training again yesterday. Cricket Australia isn’t looking into him, Ben Tippett, Maxwell’s manager, told The Age.
It was said that while traveling to the hospital, Maxwell became conscious again. He had conversations about what happened at the pub on Monday with selectors chairman George Bailey and head coach Andrew McDonald.
“He was always going to be rested,” Nick Hockley, the CEO of CA, stated to 2GB on Tuesday. “That has nothing to do with the one-day series; he needs to finish his rehabilitation. We’re still investigating a few of the claims, so it’s too soon to make any assumptions.”
Australian skipper Pat Cummins stated that Maxwell alone could choose whether or not he needed to exercise greater caution in making decisions in light of recent incidents. Despite acknowledging that he was at the same location, Cummins did not speak with Maxwell and departed early.
Although certain media have expressed apprehensions regarding Maxwell’s association with alcohol, his manager’s declaration offers reassurance that the cricket player is not subject to official investigation by Cricket Australia concerning the recent pub incident.
